OUR STORY UNFOLDED

The most meaningful sound next to silence!

Amiata Records is an independent cross-cultural record label founded in 1992 by Matteo Silva and Marc Eagleton, with headquarters in Florence and additional offices in London and Rome. Named after a mountain in southern Tuscany, the label draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of its surroundings. Its motto, “The Most Meaningful Sound Next to Silence,” originates from a 1995 review in Audiophile Recording, a British audiophile magazine, highlighting the profound impact of its releases. Amiata Records has become renowned for its dedication to high-quality sound and an eclectic range of musical genres, including world music, ethnic music, folk, contemporary classical music, ancient music, jazz and electronic music. The label stands out for its commitment to fostering artistic expression that transcends borders and cultural boundaries, offering a platform for innovative and diverse musical voices that resonate with listeners across the globe. By blending traditional and avant-garde influences, Amiata Records has carved out a unique niche in the music industry, reflecting its dedication to both artistic integrity and global cultural exchange.
