ANDREA DONATI
In the early 1980s, his musical odyssey commenced with jazz bands, initially honing his skills on the electric bass brought home by his brother from music school. Venturing further, he delved into double bass studies at the Milan Conservatory, expanding his musical horizons to encompass composition and studio craftsmanship.
Throughout the '90s, he graced various jazz ensembles across Italy and Europe, collaborating with luminaries such as E. Rava and A. Zambrini, while also releasing two acclaimed albums. As the new millennium dawned, his focus gradually shifted towards composition and the operation of a renowned recording studio in Milan, facilitating collaborations with international jazz stalwarts. However, his passion for creation led him to a transformative phase in the 2010s, where he dedicated himself predominantly to composing for choirs and chamber groups. This epoch saw the birth of a trilogy of CDs, beginning with "Secular & Sacred Music for Unaccompanied Choir" in 2016, followed by "Corpus Hermeticum" in 2018, and culminating in "Alpha & Omega" in 2021, all interpreted by the vocal ensemble Humana Vox, a group he founded and directed, delving into profound spiritual and existential themes.Le Ciel de ma Memoire
