Dedicated to contemporary world music, the Roots Series features innovative productions and creative compilations. The series opens with African Angels, a tribute to some of the finest African artists currently on the scene, and with Celtic Angels, a true who’s who of contemporary Celtic music and a touching celebration of Celtic sound. Roots focuses on emerging trends in world music with the latest hybrid styles, rhythms and state of the art production techniques. We are also developing some interesting “in-house” projects such as overtone/throat singers from Tuva, the group In a Split Second, and the Celtic female vocalist and composer Surabhi with her beautiful Celtic melodies and moods. Purely traditional world music will continue to be housed in our Secret World Series, so Roots is our way of growing and flowing with the changes in contemporary music, as much a creative process for us as it is for the artists involved.
